About this event

Educators from the USC Pacific Asia Museum invited participants to explore Asian cultures, arts, and practices through storytelling and hands-on art making. They discovered stories told through the eyes of children and engaged in creating a work of art inspired by one of the many cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands.

New stories and projects were offered each month.

On June 15, participants listened to the story Ganesha’s Sweet Tooth and created their own Ganesha or mythical creature out of clay.

On July 20, participants heard the story Suki’s Kimono and learned to create their own doll dressed in a hand-painted textile.

On August 17, participants enjoyed the Philippine folk tale Tuko and the Birds and were inspired to create their own tropical painting.

It was free with admission.
