About this event

The presentation examined the connections between King Hu’s martial arts films and the emergence of martial arts film as a genre in Chinese and Sinophone contexts. By looking at the intersection between animation, literature, and cinema, the discussion explored how Chineseness was negotiated through visual representations. The presentation and discussion were facilitated by USC Ph.D. candidate Melissa Chan.
